Inspired by "Thanatopsis" by William Cullen Bryant The title "Thanatopsis" is a combination of the Greek word "Thanatos", which is the personification of death in Greek Mythology, and the Greek suffix "opsis", which means sight or appearance. So, meditation upon death.
I wanted to try and make a more Halo/UT-esque gameplay environment for HL2DM. Feedback during play sessions spanning the past week of development have been all positive. The tester demographics have been 3 volunteers to play as often as possible, and at least 10 strangers who accidentally stumbled upon the server [only one of those guys started spawning NPCs and crashed the server]. Beta 1 todo list: -brighten the whole thing up -achieve the Viktor Antonov style nightmare Combine dystopia you see in his art work -Finish the geometry [rounding off corners for easier navigation and more pleasant appearance] -Possibly use a musical score over the whole thing to up the atmosphere
