Ingame map description : Welcome to CITY514, sister of city17. After a good lunch at your favorite restaurant on the main, you and your friends decide to cross the street and have a beer at the stripclub. You can easily see the mood of the staff that aren't satisfied to work there by hearing what they're saying. Feel all the action of a real stripclub by yourself! Oh by the way, if you see Nancy can you say hi to her for me? ;)

                         In this version 2,
                         DEATHMATCH will be mostly happened in the street.
                         TEAM DEATHMATCH, combine respawns outside of the club and rebel respawns

    Knowing you as I do, I wanted to really delve deeply into the map before rendering any opinions because I know you want to know about anything I find, no matter how little. And I cannot find anything not already mentioned by the Bannite. However, my computer (built specifically for gaming) found no lag in any place within the map, including the areas mentioned in the other guys comments.

    I looked at both maps one after the other. As you know, I have had version 1 for as long as it has been available. All I can say about the differences in the new one is that everything you told me that you were planning to do with it has come to pass. Its like you took a masterpiece and doubled its value. If it were possible to exceed a 10/10 rating, I would give it to you. No other mapper seems to add details to a map as well as you do.

    I don't know if it is only on my computer I get this problem but I would like to know if you get the same problem then mine. I get this problem on my 3 steam account that I use when doing Beta test and stuff. Same problem on 3 different computer (Shark Thermaltake, Dell desktop & HP laptop).

    When you run from one soundscape to another soundscape, most of the time it takes about 5-6 seconds before the soundscape switch to the new soundscape. Why?

    As dm_stripclub (1 & 2) are using many different soundscape I get sometimes the music of the inside the club playing while in the street and the background sound is playing while I'm inside the club. It should be reverse.

    I decided to load dm_lockdown and I realised it has the same problem with soundscape. If you just walk to them, they have time to follow and make properly the transition to the new soundscape. But if you run, then you can see the problem. Can we say this is engine bug, it is made like that? So I told myself, if the main map of the game is having this problem, I don't have to go nuts and trying to find solution to something that initialy is already in a problem ;)

    dm_lockdown has soudscape that sounds almost the same, reason why, while playing people use to not even notice that bug. If ya have some spare time, check it out and tell me what you got.

    Thank you very much captain0terror for your comments. About the pics I've tryed to choose something else instead to put the same ones I've for the version 1. You do know there is a version 1 of this map here on fpsbanana right? http://www.gamebanana.com/maps/146061

    About the couple of bugs:

    • trash pile appears to "float" above the ground

    True about the trash pile appearing to "float" above the ground (for me too) and I've just went into the map looking for it and I found it close to the giant black metal stairs in the backstreet of the club close to the dock entrance. I tough I had only one trash pile "floating" above the ground when Zlotz told me almost a year ago about a pile of those was "floating" in the version 1 of the map, where is the yellow wall with plenty of metal beam. Right on the dirt grass floor close to the yellow wall it was. Since I've deleted that entire area in version 2 I really tought I fixed the problem, didn't know there was another one. For my futur maps I'll have to check that carefully be sure I crouch near the pile to see if it is touching the ground properly.

    • some doors behave strangely

    Hehe maybe you're talking about those doors that are like just a bit opened and once you go closed to them, it trigs a sounds (funny one) or somebody start to talk, to let you beleive that, behind that door that you can't open, there is something that is going on; meaning a fight between 2 people.. or anything else... Those doors aren't set as a prop door but instead they are just a func_detail brush with no properties at all. You can count 3 of those strange door half opened.

    a) The one of the bathroom on the first floor in the back of the club trigs a sound file, simulating a fight between the doorman of the club and one of the strippers working in the club. Tony daBoss is inside the toilet and is asking to the doorman " what the **** is going on with you? Are you going nuts? Why you so cheap to beat a girl, is it because you have a too small dick? "; the doorman answered " of course not "; then Tony daBoss answered back: " So change your attitude! "; then they are speaking about drugs, the stripper was supposed to give $300 to the doorman and she didn't yet..

    b) Right behind the main stage (the one with chasing blue lights), called the backstage, there is that green door with a yellow superstar on the door. That door is also half opened and once you go near it you can hear the manager of those strippers talking to the one sitting in front of a mirror: " When I watch you can, I get a raging boner.. and other people... " well, he is asking the girl to do on the stage but she doesn't want. So she starts saying that she have a headache and it hurt her ass and finally screams like a real nuts girl. Have to hear it to realize how much psychological distress that girl is.

    c) At the second floor of the club, there is the Tony daBoss office. His door is also a bit opened and just going in front of it, it trigs a sound with a story...

    The door of the lockers room once you get inside the club by the front have to be destruct, it is just a func_break on it nothing else. Were you talking about those doors?

    • some physics objects behave strangely

    Sorry for that, because I don't know how to make my own custom .mdl The blue-grey metal barricade, the mailbox and the wooden sit that are in the court back of the restaurant aren't real physics model. They are just a group of brush made only then put as a funcphysbox. That explain why when you throw them in the sky they are not flying anought faster I mean, they're slow speed moving (dunno how to say it properly in english).. In the street, there is that custom (brush job again) fire hydrant and the only red mailbox in the street is also a brushjob associated with a funcdoor so when you press "E" on it the mailbox door open and gives you a nade.

    -I get a performance lag or freeze from time to time, but this may be on my end (apologize if it is)

    Well, I get a performance lag or freeze too, specially when you get inside the club for the first time, actually it is the fact of once you are right infront on the window in the front of the lockers and you go directly to the poker machines the engine is drawing so much stuff in one shot, for me I get a short performance problem. But this happen to me only for the first time I go threw it. Do you remember exactly where you get yours in the map?

    I'll speak to you in a next message, about another problem I get in the map (version 1 & 2) that I didn't find any fix to it.

    Ha what a great, original theme for a dm map! I'll play it soon as i can and give you some feedback! Screens look pretty good, especially the one inside the club, Good work1 =)

    BTW, I think this map might be more popular if you ported to fy or de/cs version.

Update infos with version 2: This update is to fix some bugs happened the day after the original release (v1) when HL2DM was ported to Orange Box Source Engine.

                         - Fixed ragdolls (Tony daBoss, guy in V.I.P.) freezed over the ground;
                         - Fixed cartain pole of dance booth #2;
                         - Fixed some lights issue;
                         - Fixed shotgun respawn no more after first pick up at LIVESHOW window; 
                         - Fixed the 3 monitors mechanism at Quebec Lounge HeadQuarters Networks Office;
                         - Fixed the "entdata very full!" warning in the compilations;(now smaller than 80%)
                         - Fixed "warning - face vectors parallel to face normal. Bad lighting will be produced";

                         - Added more visibility to locate cash drawer in checkroom;
                         - Added 2 black rope to V.I.P. area and improved the movement
                           from all the sit for the concert party :)
                         - Added poster glass frame of 50cent "IN DA CLUB" close to the giant letters V.I.P.;
                         - Added more speed to the STRIPPERS neons rotating pub near the toilets;
                         - Added some health in the front street;
                         - Added 1 car in the backstreet of the club;

                         - Added more visibility to the red button (3 monitors dropdown activator);

                         - Readjusted some lights issue;

                         - Deleted Club STRIPPERS t-shirt (out of stock :) & filled with map version 2 informations;
                         - Deleted the leftover rotten pizza box near Alyx barmaid;

                         - Deleted big green armory the appartment over the restaurant;
