How to get CSS Urban skins for Tactical Rebels in HL2:DM

2013 Update "Unfortunately" due to the recent switch to Steampipe, the current tutorial format and files included might not be valid any longer. However, if you use other skins for HL2:DM, you shouldn't have any trouble converting these models to the new system. Especially if you have already converted other skins (The workaround from what I've heard is quite simple).

Rebels with CSS Urban textures

Step 1: You will first need to download the Tactical Rebels pack, that replaces your rebels with the SMOD tactical rebels.

Step 2: After you installed it. Just go to the CSS urban skins category, and download a skin you like.

(Note: make sure the skin uses the default CSS model)

Step 3: Open the skin's (the one you just downloaded) materials folder until you find two files named:

ct_urban.vtf
ct_urban_normal.vtf

Step 4: Go to your \Steam\SteamApps*your account*\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials\models\cs_friend\Humans\urban_male folder.

And paste those two files in there, choose Yes to all to overwrite.

Step 5: Enter the game and enjoy your new looking Rebels.

    Actually, I just checked it, and that skin does have a normal map. And it works perfectly fine, I even got a screenshot for you:

    Erm, what if the skin doesn't come with a Normal map? I tried adding an ACU skin but it didnt have a normal map. When I played in-game my kin was purple and black, but the face was O.K. Help?
